Summer Number Primer Cards | Trace Numbers 1–10

Make learning to form numbers more meaningful with summer imagery and a gentle, tactile approach to early counting. These printable cards combine large, guided numerals with summer-themed objects and seasonal imagery so children can trace, count and connect written numbers to quantities.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

• 10 number-formation primer cards, one each for 1 through 10.

• A large outlined numeral on each card, together with the matching quantity of summer-themed objects and seasonal imagery.

• Colour-coded formation prompts showing the starting point, pauses or directional changes and the ending point.

HOW TO USE

Begin with one or two numbers at a time. Trace the outlined numeral with an index finger, following the direction prompts, then count the matching pictures aloud. Let children repeat with a pencil or dry-erase marker, arrange the cards in numerical order, or select a number and count out corresponding manipulatives. Use as individual Montessori number lessons, a math shelf task, or a seasonal counting extension.

Numeral identification and formation from 1 to 10, stroke direction, number–quantity correspondence, one-to-one counting, sequencing, finger isolation and early pencil control.

PRINTING & PREPARATION

Print on bright white cardstock and cut along the dotted guides. For reuse, laminate the cards or place the complete pages in protectors and trace with dry-erase markers. The finished cards can also be used unlaminated with finger tracing.
