Turn consonant-blend review into an inviting game of Go Fish! These little playing cards pair readable letter combinations with watercolour picture clues, making children say, hear and recognize the blends as they hunt for matching pairs.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

HOW TO USE

• Print two sets, shuffle, deal seven cards to each player and place the remaining cards face down as the “fishing pond.”

• Players read and request specific blends or digraphs from another player, listening carefully and recognizing the corresponding printed combination.

• If another player has the requested card, they pass it over; if not, the player “goes fishing” for another card.

• Collect matching pairs, reading each combination aloud, and compare the number of pairs when play concludes.

• Use a smaller selection of patterns for beginners or expand to the full deck as students master more blends.
