Camille Pissarro Art Cards | 10 Paintings & I Spy Details

Introduce French Impressionist Camille Pissarro through ten artworks that invite children to notice everyday life, village and city scenes, fields, and the changing effects of light. The painter's attentive observation of ordinary places makes this a wonderful collection for talking about how artists see and interpret their surroundings.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

• 10 artwork cards featuring paintings by Camille Pissarro.

• 10 magnified 'I Spy' detail-circle cards corresponding to the artworks.

• A Meet the Artist page introducing Pissarro and Impressionism.

• A Let's Talk About Art page with open-ended questions about what children see, feel and notice.

HOW TO USE

Introduce two or three artworks and discuss what is happening in each picture. Examine the enlarged detail circles and search for their locations in the complete paintings. Revisit the cards to compare landscape and city scenes, people at work, colours and changing light. For an optional memory or picture-matching game, print a second copy of the artwork cards. Pair the art study with the separate Skip Counting with Pissarro activity if desired.
